Open to the public in the summer of 2006, the Underwater Archaeological Park of Angra is a true underwater museum, unique in the country. Historical data indicate that, since 1552, a total of 74 shipwrecks have occurred in this bay and most of the sunk ships have not been located. On this site, visitors are invited to descend to the ocean floor and find the two attractions that can be visited: the Sinking of Steamship Lidador (ship from Brazil, which sank in 1878) and the Cemetery of Anchors. For this purpose, an underwater tourist circuit was made, duly marked with informative signposts.
