The seed of the avocado, wrapped in a dark nut is made of two halves, and has the size of an egg. The delicious and nutritious fruit can also be eaten sprinkled with sugar and a few drops of lemon juice, or as a vegetable, joining a salad of lettuce and tomato.
The Madeiran use it for making creams (soup), salads and cocktails, and for dessert, with added sugar and Madeira wine.
