In the Trás-os-Montes region the bagpipes are accompanied by the "bamboo" and "caixa" and this instrument is greatly used at festivities: "Pauliterio Dances", Processions, "Festas dos Rapazes", "Dança dos Velhos". The Bagpipes, the Tamboril/Flauta ( a single instrument) and the Tambourine are the most relevant musical instruments in Trás-os-Montes.
