Eating roast cod with "broa", corn bread, is an old tradition in Minho. Formerly known as Migas de Bacalhau, this dish has an entrance in a book of the Caminha Santa Clara Monastery. Another document, from Ponte de Lima, mentions the same recipe that states that the crumbs were sold in stalls and taverns, in the fairs.
