Located between Peniche peninsula and the (former) Baleal island, you will find an approximately 4 km long bay. A few decades ago, this bay was separated from earth. However, a pontoon was built, in order to make the everyday life of its inhabitants and visitors easier. The sea is calmer west from the island that actually protects it, while in the east (Lagide beach) the sea has more waves and it is usually used by surfers.
