The Berlenga archipelago is a quite ancient granitic formation, located 15km away from the mainland. The boat tour takes approximately half an hour. This archipelago has three island groups: Berlenga Grande ant its reefs; Estelas and Farilhões. Berlenga Natural Reserve is extremely rich in biological terms, standing out as one of the most important nesting places for the birds of the Iberian Peninsula. The guillemot, the symbol of Berlenga Natural Reserve, is one of the most endangered species of Portuguese fauna. Berlenga island is divided in Full Reserve, Partial Reserve and Leisure Area. You can not miss the natural trail, in order to know the whole island.
