Biscaínhos Museum, located in Braga, is set in a 17th century house (enlarged in the following century) with stunning Baroque style gardens. The museum presents a 18th century Baroque Manor house with its furniture and ornamental pieces (oriental porcelain, glasses, watchmaking), painting and sculpture, integrated in a richly decorated building, pretty much according to the Baroque taste. The gardens are built in three levels, standing out as one of the most remarkable examples of the north of the country, as well as one of the few remaining historical gardens. Among the existing botanical species, the imposing tree over 200 years-old, a tulip poplar from Virginia, is worth mentioning.
