This three-arch bridge was probably built by King D. Manuel I. It is a Renaissance edifice signed by Diogo de Castilho or Diogo de Torralva. The arches are set upon deep keel-shaped pillars. The middle arch is the biggest, presenting the Portuguese shield, surrounded by Christ crosses with armillary spheres on top. (National Trust Building)
