This former market is located at the end of Mouzinho da Silveira street next to Stock Exchange Palace and to São Francisco Church on the way to Ribeira quarter. It was built by Aliança Company (Massarelos Casting). Ferreira Borges Market is considered an important testimony of iron architecture, presenting numerous building and décor elements that reveal the potentialities of 18th century metal construction, as far as technique and aesthetics are concerned. In present day, it is a cultural location, classified as National Trust Building.
