Situated in the valley of Dão river between Santa Comba Dão and Canas de Senhorim, the water springs that originated Caldas de Sangemil thermal stations reveal a high therapeutic value. According to a report dating back to 1779, these waters were found in the 18th century, however their properties were probably known before. These waters, obtained from 54m deep holes, are ideal for the treatment of rheumatic, muscle and bone diseases, as well as problems of respiratory tract.
