Situated at the foothill of Monsanto rock, this is a Romanic granite temple, which probably dates back to the 13th century. There are many legends around this chapel, but the most famous one has it that an eremite found here an abandoned baby and asked God to help him. Tradition says that God sent him a doe that fed the child during its early years. (National Trust Building)
