Chaves thermal stations

Chaves thermal stations are quite unique, due to their particular characteristics. The waters are used for the treatment of rheumatic, bone, knuckle, digestive system and respiratory diseases, as well as maintenance, physical recover and beauty treatments. These waters are considered the hottest in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe’s hottest sodium bicarbonate waters reaching a 73 degrees temperature in the water spring all year long. Used since 1899, Chaves thermal stations are situated at the heart of the city next to Tâmega riverbanks. They stem from a hot mineral water spring, that Emperor Titus Flavius Vespasianus called his. These thermal stations have modern and wide facilities equipped for diagnosis, mechanotherapy, physiotherapy, electrotherapy and water therapy with swimming pools and computer controlled water massage, steam baths, Turkish baths, sprayings, inhalations and aerosols.
