Contacts
This small maritime fortress is located in the end of Boavista Avenue, a few meters away from the line that sets the border between Oporto and Matosinhos. It was built in the 17th century to defend Douro port. Mainly known as Cheese Castle because of the round shape of the rock whereupon it is situated. This monument is managed by Commands’ Association, integrating a museum with weapons of Colonial War and a bar, opened to the public.
