It is one of the most interesting civil buildings of Coimbra downtown, situated in Ferreira Borges street, the main commercial street. This pedestrian zone connects Largo da Portagem to Santa Cruz Church. The building was bought by City Hall in 1980, and it stands out as a beautiful exeomplar of iron architecture. A branch of the ancient Great Chiado Warehouses as housed here. Nowadays, this building is the stage of exhibitions and regional handicraft presentations.
