Built in the end of the 18th century, this church has a bell tower and a façade turned to the sea. It has kept a precious image of island’s patron saint, Nossa Senhora dos Milagres. It is a 16th century Flemish sculpture, which probably came from Malines (Belgium). Legend has it that the image was found in the sea, and the first temple in its honour was built next to Porto da Casa bay.
