Founded in 1740 during the ruling period of D. João V in the place of a former church, this church was later remodelled. Next to the temple, you will find the Hermitage of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, a 15th century construction covered inside by 18th century blue and white tiles depicting life scenes of Saint George.
