Description of the place: This mountain village, situated northeast from Gouveia, has kept a very typical identity. Its streets are interestingly decorated with popular rimes. A beautiful castle (rebuilt in the 20th century) is located here, along with one of the best restaurants in the region (O Albertino). Folgosinho is also the starting point of several roads (that can be reached by foot or on a 4x4 vehicle) leading up to the peaks of Estrela Mountain range.
Points of interest: Medieval walls; pillory; 16th century church; fountains with versus from “The Lusíadas” which refer to Viriato who, according to tradition was born here.
