The Bishop’s House is situated near Souto street, the great trading street of Braga centre and next to the colourful Santa Bárbara garden. Archbishop D. Fernando Guerra ordered its construction in the 14th century and it was renewed during the 16th and the 18th centuries. In the Reading Room, it is worth highlighting the ceiling with ornamented coffers, as well the Castles’ drinking fountain. The Public Library is housed in this building. The plan has a cross-shape with a gabled roof.
