The Organizing Committee of Terceira International Festival was established in August 1983, in Angra do Heroismo with the aim of boosting initiatives linked to popular culture, with particular emphasis on the traditional dances and songs. Over the years, the International Folklore Festival is becoming increasingly important as a key initiative for cultural exchange and promotion, with the participation of folklore groups from all over the world.
