The importance of the vineyard in the south of Portugal dates back to the Arab presence, when they were already cultivated and exported their wine.
The Lakes Region is located in the strip of Algarve coast, between the ocean and the Serra de Monchique, having a Mediterranean climate, tempered by a strong maritime influence. It comprises part of the municipalities of Aljezur, Vila do Bispo and Lagos. The varieties used for these wines are white Boal Branco and red Negra Mole and Periquita.
