Situated in the Old Square of Castelo Branco, the Domus Municipalis, a former 16th century building presents an armillary sphere, the arms of King Manuel I, as well as an inscription of 1646 evoking the fact that King D. João IV delivered kingdom’s protection to Our Lady Imaculada Conceição. In present day, the Municipal Library Dr. Jaime Lopes is located here. A steeple hangs over the main door.
