Observations: The town was conquered from the moors by Afonso Henriques in 1166. The Évora Monte Convention was signed in 1833, in a house next to the castle, celebrating truce between the two brothers Don Pedro and Don Miguel.

Description of view: Situated at the top of a 474-metre high hill in an extension of Serra da Ossa. On clear-sky days the panorama is splendid and one can see as far as Serra da Arrábida and Serra de Montejunto. To the North Serra de S. Mamede, and it is possible to catch sight of the Serra da Estrela massif. To the South are Évora and Serra de Mendro.
