Santa Maria da Graça Church is located at the historical centre of Santarém. Its main highlight is the rose window in flamboyant Gothic style. It began to be built in 1380 thanks to Dom João Afonso Telo de Meneses and his wife Guiomar de Vilalobos. In the interior lie the tombs of its founders and of Pedro Álvares Cabral, discoverer of Brazil. This is a three-nave temple with five bays. Its capitals are sculpted with column pilasters that sustain vault-shaped arches. The façade is particularly outstanding, due to its magnificent portal, in which an ogee points at the elegant rose window.
