Description of the place: This village is called “Lapas” (meaning “cave” or “grout” in Portuguese), because of its several artificial caves, whose exact origins remain unknown. However, archaeological objects were found here, dating back to the Neolithic until the Roman period. Among the must-see places of the village, you can not miss the church, rebuilt in 1550, comprising a tomb arch, quite relevant in terms of sculpture; pattern tiles that cover the nave and a 15th century bass-relief in multicoloured stone.
Points of interest: Church which was rebuilt in 1550 with a tomb arch with sculptural relevance, patterned azulejos which cover the aisle and a 15th century engravings made in polychromatic stone.
