This highly located castle offers the visitor a wide view over the mountain landscape and the plain. The view from the valley over the village, surrounded by walls and located in a rocky cliff, is breathtaking. The history of this fortress dates back to the Christian Conquer in the 13th century. The castle would be later donated to the Malta Order by King D. Afonso III and recovered by D. Dinis in 1299.
