Located in the Monchique mountain, Parque da Mina offers a trip to the region's past by visiting a fully furnished house from the early eighteenth century. Past practices are also reflected in the recreation of a distillery and a coal company, and it is still possible to visit a deactivated ore extraction mine and seventeenth century ruins.
In this area visitors can also find more than a hundred species of farm animals as well as several examples of local flora, which can be watched during pedestrian tours.
