As Nabão river crosses the historical centre of the city of Tomar, it flows by a small island with trees and gardens. The main course is divided between the main stream and a channel leading to the former Moinhos do Rei. In this small island covered by a garden, you will find one of the greatest highlights of the city, a wooden waterwheel that evokes the former watering traditions in the riverbanks. The island can be reached through a weir or pedestrian bridges.
