This Mannerism style temple dates back to the 17th century, presenting two bell towers and a sculpture of the Virgin Mary, placed in a niche over the door. The interior is lavishly decorated in gilt carved wood, tiling and frescos. The tomb of its founder, D. Manuel de Moura Manuel – Miranda Bishop, deserves a special attention. It has the signature of Cláudio Laprade, standing out as the most important work left by this French sculptor in the country.
