Housed in a 17th century maritime fortress, this was a sadly famous place, since it was the political prison during the dictatorship period. The museum presents archaeology collections (representative of the heritage of Furninha grout), underwater archaeology, malacology, ship building and local handicraft (typical Bilros laceworks). It also includes an area of anti-fascist resistance, and you can visit the former prisoners’’ cells.
