Due to its proximity to the border, walls and protection towers which are ripped by eight doors, were raised. From these walls, rebuilt and increase in the time of King Dinis, one can only see some points of its remains which were damaged with urban growth. Only three of the twelve towers remain. Only three doors remains, the Alegrete, Crato and Devesa doors. (National Monument)
