Santa Justa Lift is a vertical lift built in the beginning of the 20th century by Engineer Raul Mesnier du Ponsard, standing out as a magnificent example of iron architecture. It began to work in 1902, initially connecting downtown with Carmo Square. While measures are being taken to ensure a safe connection between the walkway and the square, you can only go up to the terrace and enjoy the view over Lisbon, which is quite good actually.
