This church is located next to the Portas do Sol garden, in Santarém, and it was founded in the 12th century by Templar Knight Friar Pedro Arnaldo. The Romanic style former church was once the Royal House chapel. It was rebuilt from the 16th to the 17th centuries. Nothing has remained from the ancient design. The most ancient elements of this Neoclassical temple are the side mannerism altarpieces.
