This Maneirism style convent presently houses a pousada, which was beautifully transformed by Portuguese Architect Souto Moura. While the convent area was totally recovered from ruins, the church has maintained all its splendour. Rebuilt in the 18th century, Santa Maria do Bouro Convent has large stairs and the façade is covered by the sculptures of the four evangelists and St. Luis. Inside you will find the altarpiece in gikt carved wood, along with the tile-covered sacristy and the 7- arcade bays cloister with Tuscany columns.
