Description of view: This viewpoint, located halfway from Régua and Vila Real, offers one of the most extraordinary panoramas over Douro river and its ledges. Blue Douro river peacefully flows down below kissing the margins, the “quintas” and manor houses. It was the beloved place of Portuguese poet Miguel Torga, who was so many times appointed for the Nobel Prize for literature. He used to say that São Leonardo was a boat with its keel inside out that Nature turned in the middle of the valley.
