Located at the heart of Lafões region, São Pedro do Sul thermal stations are among the most popular ones in the country. This venue combines wellness, health and leisure. The waters are recognised for their mineral and medicinal effects. Due to their healing properties, they were already used by the Romans and later in the 12th century. Prominent persons of the Portuguese kingdom, such as King D. Afonso Henriques, attended these thermal stations. It was this king who granted the “foral” (Royal document) to the town. Nowadays, these thermal stations have modern equipment, as well as several leisure structures. They are among the most important thermal stations in the country.
