Originally Baroque, the church was built in 1528 under the order of D. Pedro de Castro, Abbot of Mouçós. In 1692, Domingos Botelho da Fonseca, a nobleman of the Royal House, orders that the main chapel be panelled in tile.

Observations: Restored in the 18th century, currently with a baroque aspect. Interior of a large aisle with 18th century azulejos. On the altars and triumphal arch, there are rich golden carvings. Focus is also given to the 3 panels which decorate the arch of the moor-chapel.
