Medieval Segura Castle was built upon a former Roman fortress by King D. Sancho II, in order to defend the border with Castile. Nowadays, the castle is ruins, for only a part of the wall called “Porta de Baixo” has remained. This is one of the village’s entrances. (National Trust Building)
