This is an unforgettable scenario that consists of two lagoons – Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul – surrounded by steep cliffs covered by trees and flowers. The peaceful margins and the small peninsula of the Lagoa Azul invite to relaxing walks and picnics. Legend has it that the multicoloured waters of the lagoon are the tears of a blue-eyed princess and a green-eyed shepherd who lived a troubled love. The lagoons of Sete Cidades (seven lagoons) were classified Protected Landscape under the Natura 2000 Network.
