The 760m high Sortelha Castle was rebuilt by D. Sancho II and remodelled many times along the centuries. It has a military architectural style, as well as some Manueline elements. In present day, you can still observe the walls around the town, its three doors (one of them is false) and the imposing keep. This castle offers a panorama view over the surrounding landscape.
