Currently known only by the name of "alheira", this unique sausage, which origin dates back to the late fifteenth century, was once known as "tabafeia" in Bragança and in Macedo de Cavaleiros, and is also called "the villain" in Moncorvo. The current designation comes from Mirandela. However, there are plenty of recipes for preparing this "alheira".
