This kind of basket ware is called “Brezas” or “Breze”, because the word “breza” means rye straw in this region. After rolling a spiralling straw bundle, the basket maker sews the basket with blackberry from the centre to the edges and from the bottom to the border. The blackberry must be cut in November and February, so that it can be easily manipulated.
