In this region, the technique of handmade ornaments in plaster, mostly used in ceilings, is still in business. Pieces present geometric shapes, floral or a mixed composition. At the time of the Marquis of Pombal (XVIII), Italian plasterers travelled to Portugal to teach this technique, especially in the Minho region.
