The cod is part of the Beira cuisine, one of its special recipes being the "Tibornada with punched potatoes". Prepared on the day on which the "aguardente" was made or at the time of manufacture of olive oil, this was a simple and delicious way to prepare the cod. According to some, Tibornada is the name given to the supper, but also what they used to call to the hot bread dipped in new olive oil, which was joined by cod chips placed by the mill worker in a bowl.
