In the past, these objects were manufactured in tin-plate, but aluminum replaced this material. A cottage industry of tin has not disappeared completely because some of the tools manufactured are very well adapted to its role in rural life and have not been replaced by other materials. Some of these items are still in use today: funnel, packed lunch to transport food to the field, pitcher, pitcher, oiler for olive oil can to conserve the sausage, "mungideira" or the lamps and lanterns.
