Observations: In this region - Sabugal - «capeia» is practised, which is a way of bull fighting.
Description of the place: Situated 10km north from Sabugal, this is a village with millennium-old origins, occupied since pre-historical times as it can be seen by the vestiges of a house and an anthropomorphic grave. In terms of historical legacy, it is worth highlighting its castle, still built under the ruling of Leon kingdom. From this construction a door in Gothic arc (at the entry) and some wall remains are still to be seen nowadays, offering a view over the valley of Boi river stream, a tributary river of Côa.
Points of interest: 16th century granite pillory; remains of the walls from the former castle and fortress; 16th century Igreja Matriz with a renaissance pulpit; Capela de S. Lázaro.
